What gives Trump authority to ban a book? I’m unaware of any specific constitutional or legislative power. Maybe a nice subject for a lawsuit

Hi Mr. Wallis,

Aren't you delighted to finally make a "banned" list? I've heard interviews of other authors admitting a "ban" is a source of pride and actually helps their sales. I put "ban" in quotes because we all know book banning does not exist in the US. You would need to travel to Iran, Saudi or other Islamic countries to see actual book bans. Here in the US you can usually get any title you desire delivered to your front door within 48 hours or so.

I totally agree that the Trump administration's political attempt to withdraw books they don't like is a sign of a fascist government. I condemn it 100%.

However, the overwhelming majority of "banned" books are authors pushing sexual activity in juvenile fiction. Again, these are not banned, but selectively removed from children's libraries and schools. Just as sexual materials have always been scrutinized and normally unavailable for children. Liberals cry about it, but it's nothing new. They claim it discriminates against the LGBTQ people, but this is largely false. It discriminates against overt sexual acts in children's materials. It just happens that a lot of the overt sexual stuff is by and about LGBTQ people. Publishers push that stuff because it's popular and very lucrative.

So I'm not going to lose sleep over your banned book. Let's just get trump out of office ASAP and restock the missing titles in our adult libraries.

I am a Resistance songwriter. Yesterday I wrote the following song about Mr Garcia

2025 Mr. Garcia’s Song-Rev. A (With a Calypso Beat)

I took a trip in an ae-ro-plane [V.1]

Part of the government’s new campaign

I hear this year that Salvador’s nice

And all expenses paid by ICE

I didn’t need to do a thing

The government handled it all for free

Free room and board, it’s such a deal

Gourmet food with every meal

I’d been in America a long, long time [V.2]

My life was going very fine

I have a wife and three lovely kids

Sheet metal worker, now I’m on the skids

Salvador’s president says I’ll stay for one year

But really and truly there’s nothing to fear

The lease is renewable every year

Can’t see my family, oh dear, oh dear

The CECOT prison is the place to be [Chorus]

So overcrowded with no views of the sea

So bleak and gloomy they’ve got torture too

Oh, it’s a place for me and you!

The gangs in Salvador were after me [V.3]

So in the States I got an order of reprieve

I was guaranteed never to return

They said in America, my freedom was earned

Now in CECOT it’s full of members

Of the gang and they all remember

Who I am and where I’ve been

Now I’m in constant fear to be here again

Well they could kill me at the drop of a hat [V.4]

Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that

Then again on the other hand

There’s nothing too cruel that has to be banned

I hear the homegrowns are coming too

Dangerous criminals with illegal views

They’re all terrorists every last one

But soon their futures will be sealed and done
