This was such a compelling article and is a call to service to others. We are not meant to take the easy road. In this regime, we may need to be more courageous and aware of injustice than ever. I pray I will be faithful to this calling.

We continue to be called to follow Christ by the memory of "all the saints who from their labors rest."

Today incidentally is also the anniversary of the Azuza Street Revival started by the Holy Spirit working through the leadership of William J. Seymour.

Standing up includes calling it what it is; not just about what it is doing. The face is Donald Trumps, but the soul is the Antichrist. This is the source of his power. The oligarchs that back him are just the super-greedy who are driven by fear to slinik under the wing of power and like fleas, nestling in. The Christian Nationalists are our brothers and sisters who have succumbed to the ministration of their pastors, who have been financed and promoted by the very same type of individuals who benefit most from the disruption of society. They need to be called home. To do this, is ultimately the challenge of Faith.

I wanted to name one of our sons ’Dietrich’ but couldn’t get the Mrs to submit as the Scripture doth enjoin her. I have admired and been inspired by DB since first encountering him in college years. I detest how the Christian nationalists have purloined and perverted his message and memory.

Bonhoeffer: “I can, as a pastor… do more than merely console or bury those who have been run over. I must jump in front of the car and stop it.” - There has to be a better way.

The sad truth about this is that here in the US we have Mega churches almost in every block who are in it for the money, fleecing the flock so they can drive Rolls Royce cars, fly in private jets and live in mansions. They will lay hands on the evil convicted felon running this country and lie to their congregations misleading them to believe this monster is chosen by God! Lying to them about being pro-life while supporting the devil that is taking food from children in schools who in many cases, it’s the only decent meal they’ll get in a day. Stopping USAID to countries with babies starving to death! This is reality in this country that prides itself in being Christian!

Thanks so much Jim. You make us aware that in these times we all need to say something. Bonhoeffer is a great example of courage - but in a democracy (while we still can) we must challenge injustice. I've written a song about it... https://youtu.be/NzMyxSu2L_s
